A QUICK NOTE ON GLÖGG

The roots of glögg go back to the spiced wines of the Middle Ages, often consumed as medicine.

In the 1500s and 1600s, such drinks were believed to balance the body’s fluids according to the medical theories of the time. They were infused with herbs, sweetened, and heated to enhance their effect.

Even Gustav Vasa enjoyed a spiced wine known as Hypocras. Back then, it was a drink of status and refinement, reserved for the elite. It wasn’t until the 1800s that glögg took on a more popular role, becoming closely linked with Christmas traditions.

Since then, it has become a natural part of the Swedish winter season.

FLAVOUR & AROMA

Blossa Vinglögg is a Swedish classic, made using the same recipe for around 150 years.

It has a spiced aroma with notes of cardamom, raisins, cloves, ginger, bitter orange, and cinnamon.

The flavour is sweet and richly spiced, with a smooth finish and lingering Christmas spices.
